With a background in the corporate world and experience in psychology, sociology and counselling, Sylvia has been managing our 24/7 Crisis Response Service for many years but has now moved into the role of Pasifika Services Manager, overseeing the development of our Poutu Pasifika team and managing our Le Malaga Pacific student programme.
Sylvia’s role involves building relationships with other Pacific services and working collaboratively with other agencies within Tamaki Makaurau to serve our Pacific community and ensure they receive the help and support they need, in the way that they need it. Sylvia also furthers the work of HELP and the Poutu Pasifika team by being an active member of Pacific Counsellors Collective. She’s passionate about advancing the opportunity for our Pacific workforce to work effectively with our Pacific Peoples. She takes pride in developing and providing relevant and appropriate service to our vulnerable communities.
