Full-time or Part-time (22.5 – 37.5 hours per week)

Our Crisis Team is looking for a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Psychologist, preferably with post-qualifying experience to join our Crisis Day Team. Our service includes 24/7 telephone counselling and face-to-face support sessions, supporting clients through police and medical interviews and procedures.

Whilst our service is available 24/7, this role is operational between Monday – Friday between 8am and 6pm. We are looking for someone to work between 3 – 5 days per week. All staff are required to be available on Mondays for Team and Agency meetings. The Crisis Team is based in a lovely villa very close to Mt Eden Village.

What you need:

  • Registration with a NZ Governing Body in Counselling, Psychology, or Psychotherapy.
  • Experience/knowledge working with sexual violence and family violence trauma survivors is an advantage.
  • Full, clean and current driver’s licence.
  • Cultural/ethnic sensitivity and awareness of Te Tiriti O Waitangi principles.
  • Strong work values and a great team player.
  • A genuine interest in people, social causes and alignment to HELP’s vision and values.

Part-time (20 hours per week)

We are looking for a welcoming and friendly person to join our Crisis Team on a 6-month fixed term period covering maternity leave. This role is for 20 hours per week minimum, with hours worked between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday. You will be sharing responsibility for day-to-day tasks within the Crisis Service, such as administration duties, coordinating appointments, data entry, greeting clients, managing email inboxes, opening/closing and upkeep of the property, stocktakes, and working closely with the Clinical Services Manager and the larger Crisis and Administration Teams.

This role is integral to the organisation as a front-facing role, working with the public, stakeholders, contractors, and the wider organisation. Your work will be varied and you’ll be joining a team who are motivated to find better and more efficient ways to support our clients and staff.

Ideally, you live locally in Mt Eden and are open to negotiating hours with the second Admin person. This fixed-term part-time role is likely to suit part-time students or those wanting to get back into the workforce.

  • Administration experience in various areas including office administration tasks, upkeep of the work site, health and safety regulations, and making people feel welcome on arrival.

Part-time (20 hours per week)

We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Crisis clinical team to provide specialised support services to survivors of sexual assault. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing team doing great work for an important cause. It involves working closely with a full-time Social Worker to respond to clients’ complex needs in areas such as housing, income support and community resources. You would collaborate with our Crisis Counsellors and other community agencies.

Whilst our service is available 24/7, this position is a part-time role (20 hours) and will be Monday – Friday. Excluding Monday, we are flexible about what days you are available. We are based in a lovely villa very close to Mt Eden Village.

What you need:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Social Worker in NZ.
  • Registration with the NZ Social Work Registration Board (SWRB).
  • Skills and applied knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and trauma-informed approaches and processes.
  • Cultural/ethnic sensitivity and awareness of Te Tiriti O Waitangi principles.
  • Skills and competency in record-keeping and client management systems.
  • A full, current NZ driver’s licence.
