Are you a Registered Mental Health Professional interested in making a difference in the lives of adults impacted by sexual harm?
Since 1982, HELP Auckland has been standing alongside survivors of sexual violence by providing a range of services – including free counselling, and support to adults, children and their whānau.

About the Role:
We are looking for a therapist to join our friendly and supportive all-woman team to help us in our mission to support and empower women in their healing from the effects of sexual violence. We provide supervision, flexible working hours, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. You will also have opportunities for you to be involved in our DBT programme as part of the role, should this align with your interests.
This is a part-time role (21.5 – 30 hours per week) – including Monday Team meetings and operates between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday – Friday.
This role is likely to suit both developing practitioners (minimum 1 year post-qualifying experience) as well as those with an established practice seeking reliable part‑time income.

(Note: HELP is able to provide ACC-approved supervision in-house.)
What you need:
- Registered with ACC Sensitive Claims or eligible to apply for registration. See above link for minimum eligibility requirements (this requirement is non-negotiable)
- Minimum 1-year post-qualifying experience in a mental health setting (experience working with sexual abuse survivors will give you an edge but is not compulsory)
- Minimum Provisional Registration with an NZ Governing body/Association in Counselling, Psychology, or Psychotherapy. (NZAC, PBANZ, NZCCA)
- NZQA approved qualification relevant to your membership/registration.
- Understand the dynamics of sexual violence, attachment & trauma, as well as the effects on survivors and their families.
- Experience in writing reports for third party funding.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
- Able to learn and adapt to new technology and databases readily.
