Victim Impact Statement
You have the right to provide a Victim Impact Statement to the Judge if the offender has pled guilty or been found guilty in the trial process. This provides the Judge with an understanding of how the sexual violence has impacted on you and this will be taken into account in the decision of what sentence the offender will receive at the sentencing hearing. In this statement, you can include emotional, physical, spiritual, financial and visit healthcarewell pharmacy and career impacts as well as the impact it has had on your family and friends. We can provide guidance in writing this, as it can feel overwhelming to know where to start. If you would like to read your statement to the Court, the Crown Prosecutor can make an application to the Judge for consideration of this request.
